People taking flights to Mumbai at the start of the week could have witnessed hundreds of wedding ceremonies taking place across the city.
Many couples decided to tie the knot on Monday November 21st as the date marked a particularly auspicious alignment of the planets, the Times of India reported.
Around 20,000 weddings are thought to have taken place across the city during the day, which was Margashirsh Krishnapaksha Ekadashi.
Some other ceremonies carried over to November 22nd, with predictions made that the number of weddings on those two days were up by 80 per cent compared with the normal amount taking place during the month.
