The strong links between the city of
Thiruvananthapuram and Japan are to be celebrated with a festival.
Trade links have been seen between India and Japan for the past 60 years and to mark this event, the city will be starting the Discover Japan Festival, which will begin on May 11th.
Spanning three days, the showcase at the VJT Hall will explore Japanese culture, with highlights to include displays of origami and an insight into the traditional arts of caring for Bonsai trees and flower arranging.
A showing of Japanese films will also take place at the event, with the first screening beginning at 19:00 local time on the first evening.
