Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will start direct flights to Los Angeles, California from June 1, 2014, subject to regulatory approvals. Tickets on daily and direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles will be offered.
LA will be Etihad’s fourth destination in the USA. As of now, the carrier is offering air tickets on flights to American cities of Chicago, New York and Washington D.C.
Once the new flight services to LA are operational, Etihad Airways will be providing 28 return flights each week between the UAE and USA.
Initiation of new flights is likely to push Etihad Airways’ stock in the USA, and is going to cater to the rising demand for air tickets on flights between the USA and UAE. Los Angeles is major tourist hub of USA and is renowned for its entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science and sports.
The new flights will also offer utmost connectivity, via the airline’s hub at Abu Dhabi, to destinations across the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.
As far as configuration is concerned, space for 237 guests will be available, with 8 Diamond First Class suites, 40 Pearl Business Class flatbed seats, and 189 Coral Economy Class seats for travellers seeking cheaper air tickets with Etihad.
Daily, Flight EY171 will depart from Abu Dhabi at 8.45am and land in LA at 2.15pm. The return flight, EY170, will depart LA at 4.15pm and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 7.35pm, the following day.
