More and more travellers are looking for eco-tourism options before booking flights to India, for example. Laura Greenman, director of Ecoescape, explained that demand for environmentally-sound breaks is increasing.
However, she stressed that the industry is still a niche sector and that more needs to be done to ensure its continued development in a sustainable manner. Commenting on why tourists are opting for eco-breaks, Ms Greenman said: "People are looking for holidays which are both different and memorable and put them in touch with local people and places."
