People who would rather spend their holidays on the slopes than lounging on a beach have been heading to the Indian region of Himachal, it has been revealed.
Representatives from the tourism industry in Shimla have stated that there has been an increase in the number of travellers arriving in the region following a recent spell of snowfall, Asian Lite reported.
Yogesh Behl, general manager of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, told IANS that the surge in arrivals is due to falling temperatures in the area, which had been experiencing unusually hot weather.
