India’s premier airline, Jet Airways (JAI) and South African Airways (SAA) have got into a mutual alliance by signing a codeshare agreement! The two carriers have signed the pact by providing flights to more destinations between India and South Africa.
Various Internet sources revealed that the tickets went on sale on 16 April 2013 with travel effective from 18 April 2013, reveals various online sources.
This development is sure to please passengers booking tickets for flights on both airlines as they will now be able to get seamless connection to various destinations in South Africa and India within the network of the two carriers.
Under the arrangement, South African Airways will place codes on Jet's flights between Mumbai and Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram in India. Similarly, JAI will place codes on SAA's flights between Mumbai and Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban.
The agreement is sure to bring manifold rewards for tickets seekers travelling on the route connecting India and southern Africa in the form of reciprocal frequent-flyer program benefits. SAA's loyalty programme, Voyager members will be able to earn miles when travelling aboard JAI flights using SAA-issued tickets. Likewise, members of Jet Privilege programme will also be able to earn and redeem JPMiles when travelling with SAA using JAI-issued tickets.
