Jet Airways Permitted to Code-Share with Five Airlines

One of India’s leading airlines, Jet Airways may expand its global network across the world as the aviation ministry of India has permitted it to enter code-share with five airlines - American Airlines, Malaysian, Garuda of Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines and Kenya Airways. This will make it the biggest Indian carrier to in terms of global connectivity, offering vast choices on tickets aboard flights to fliers.

A code-share facilitates merging of two or more carriers, allowing them boost global connectivity. Travellers can reserve tickets with one airline and take flights operated by another one. Travel experts hold it as the “biggest permissions given to an Indian airline for code-share in a go, and will be a big boost for Jet.”

The approval by the authorities is going to be another bonus for global travellers who reserve tickets with the operator. They can not only draw advantage of superlative in-flight products and welcoming cabin crew, but also the wide network across the world. 
Jet Airways is also mulling to sign a pact with UAE based Etihad in an attempt to boost its network across Gulf and worldwide regions. The deal would mean the carrier operates flights between 23 cities of India and Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE. It is also going to provide tickets on flights to several regions in the US including non-stop flights to San Francisco, Gulf, East Africa and Europe. The additional services will offer numerous alternatives to fliers who seek tickets to fly from India to US, Europe, East Africa and various destinations across the globe.

Jet Airways and South African Airways Signs Codeshare Pact

India’s premier airline, Jet Airways (JAI) and South African Airways (SAA) have got into a mutual alliance by signing a codeshare agreement! The two carriers have signed the pact by providing flights to more destinations between India and South Africa.

Various Internet sources revealed that the tickets went on sale on 16 April 2013 with travel effective from 18 April 2013, reveals various online sources.

This development is sure to please passengers booking tickets for flights on both airlines as they will now be able to get seamless connection to various destinations in South Africa and India within the network of the two carriers.

Under the arrangement, South African Airways will place codes on Jet's flights between Mumbai and Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram in India. Similarly, JAI will place codes on SAA's flights between Mumbai and Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban.

The agreement is sure to bring manifold rewards for tickets seekers travelling on the route connecting India and southern Africa in the form of reciprocal frequent-flyer program benefits. SAA's loyalty programme, Voyager members will be able to earn miles when travelling aboard JAI flights using SAA-issued tickets. Likewise, members of Jet Privilege programme will also be able to earn and redeem JPMiles when travelling with SAA using JAI-issued tickets.

More Economy Class Seats on Jet Airways’ India-UK Flights

Britons seeking flights to India from the UK with Jet Airways will soon be able to take advantage of more economy class seats on the plane.

One of the most popular private airlines in India, Jet Airways has planned to squeeze in 34 more seats in its Boeing B777-300ER aircraft to accommodate increasing number of flyers taking flights on India-UK route. With increased economy-class seating, the carrier is sure to attract more budget conscious flyers looking for cheap tickets on its flights.

Jet Airways has been a leading name in the aviation sector of India. The Mumbai based airline has an impressive travel network and operates a good frequency of flights between India and destinations in the UK and rest of Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America.

The airline has carried out its plan of boosting the economy class seating by replacing the previous nine seats per row with ten narrower seats. However, Jet Airway’s B777-300ER aircraft will feature the same eight first class and 30 business class cabins as it does currently.

Jet Airways to Launch Delhi-Dammam Service from March 17

Jet Airways, perhaps the top name in Indian airline industry, is all set to expand its horizons. Come Sunday, the airline will start offering direct flights between Delhi and Dammam, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The airline announced that it will be a four times a week service (Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays) and will kick start off from March 17.

Flights to India already connect Dammam to the country’s commercial hub Mumbai and Trivandrum.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 567 will take off from Dammam at 2355 hrs (local time) and land in Delhi at 0615 hrs next day. On the return leg, 9W 568 will depart Delhi airport at 2035 hrs (LT) and arrive in Dammam at 2255 hrs (LT).

Jet Airways is going to deploy a Boeing 737-800 on the route. Travellers who would rather take tickets on relatively cheap flights to India will find a number of Economy class seats available for them on the aircraft apart from the Premiere travel class seating options.

Jet Airways boasts a substantial presence in the Gulf with flights to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Sharjah, Jeddah and Riyadh already offered by the airline. Jet Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, Sudheer Raghavan, believes that the new route would prove to be as popular with the customers as the airline’s other services to the region. He emphasised on the viability of the route by stating that new service will offer easy connections from and to Delhi to cities like Kathmandu and Dhaka.

Jet Airways begins new flights to India

et Airways has begun daily flights to Delhi and Mumbai from Colombo.

The carrier believes the new flights using Boeing 737-800s will help link India's two main hubs to Sri Lanka and increase onward international travel to other destinations in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Flights to Delhi will depart Colombo in the morning, with the return flight leaving Delhi in the early afternoon.

The new connection to Mumbai will be a late-night service and will provide a direct flight to India's main financial city.

Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer of Jet Airways, said: "Jet Airways is delighted to provide direct links from the financial and the national capital to the Emerald Isle, which is fast emerging as a highly rated global tourism destination."

The carrier recently announced plans to form an alliance with South Africa Airways, so that the two airlines could sell joint tickets on flights to Mumbai from Johannesburg.

Indian carrier plans South African alliance

India-based airline Jet Airways is hoping to agree an alliance with South Africa Airways. The deal has still to be approved by regulators but the marketing agreement could enable the two airlines to sell each other's fares on flights to Mumbai from Johannesburg.

In addition, the airlines could also sell tickets for domestic connection routes to Cape Town and a number of Indian cities, reports Financial Express.

A Jet Airways official said: "The two carriers would code-share on the trunk Mumbai-Johannesburg route. The issue is currently pending with [the] civil aviation ministry. "The code-share with the South African carrier would help us get more passengers."

Jet Airways named as India's best

Jet Airways has been recognised in the latest Air Passenger Association of India (APAI) awards.

The carrier picked up a number of awards at a special industry seminar held last week. Jet Airways came out top in the categories of Best Full Service Airline, International and Best Full Service Airline, Domestic. Saroj Datta, executive director of Jet Airways, welcomed the awards as the results are based on feedback directly from passengers and believed it reflects the hard work of the airline's staff.

He added: "These awards stand testimony to our commitment to continually focus on the needs of our guests, thus offering them a truly world-class travel experience."

Jet Airways to run additional flights to Mumbai

Anyone who has been affected by the volcanic eruption which grounded flights across much of northern Europe for six days could be relieved to hear that one carrier is offering extra services.

Jet Airways has announced that it will run additional flights to Mumbai from London Heathrow, as well as return trips to the British capital, to help passengers that were stranded as a result of the natural disaster. The carrier has also started running its usual flights to Delhi and Mumbai from London.

Additionally, services to the United States and Canada from India will resume as normal, with the airline once again able to stop at its hub in Brussels en route.

Jet Airways unveils new menu

Anyone who has booked flights to India with Jet Airways will soon be able to sample a new menu on its services, the company has revealed.

The new menu will be rolled out on April 1st, offering hot hors d'ouvres for the first time.

In 2009, the airline collaborated with Michelin-starred chef Yves Mattagne to revamp its food, with a host of western dishes designed to complement the carrier's Indian meals.

Jet Airways wins customer loyalty award

Flights to India with Jet Airways allow passengers to enjoy the services of an award-winning aviation operator.

The airline currently has 89 aircraft operating from 61 destinations, both in the domestic market and offering flights to India from overseas.

Nikos Kardassis, chief executive officer of Jet Airways, says: "We have always endeavoured to delight our guests with our world-class product and customer service, both in the air and on the ground."

Those efforts have now been rewarded with the news that Jet Airways has secured its third consecutive victory in the Loyalty Awards.

In 2008, 2009 and now 2010, the airline took the accolade of Customer and Brand Loyalty, defeating the competition from other leading airlines each time.

Other titles taken by the operator over the years include the Freddie award for Program of the Year and the TTG Travel Asia accolade for Best Domestic Airline, which it won in 2005.

Jet Airways launches new flights to Delhi
