Good news for all those looking to book air tickets for Kerala bound flights! The tourism board in the southernmost Indian state has launched a ‘seaplane ride’ project that will bestow the travellers with easy, instant and hassle-free travel experience. Yes, you heard it right! The seaplane service has started off from June 2 this year.
With this exclusive and first of this kind of projects in India, tourists will see a dramatic cut in their travel time while holidaying in Kerala: one of the most sought after holiday destinations in India. They will enjoy a smooth connectivity between over 20 destinations locally, including Ashtamudi, Kochi, Calicut, Punnamada, Kumarakom, Munnar and Bolgatty. No doubt, the purpose behind launching of the project is to offer the visitors total connectivity by air.
Nothing comes for free. And certainly not the seaplane ride which the state intends to sell as transfer packages. Prices of tickets for a 20-minute jaunt traversing Kochi-Trivandrum-Calicut-Alleppey have been revealed by some sources to be approximately US$ 53. That’s around INR 3000 per person.
How effective the service could be? Well, the exact results are yet to come, but it seems that the tourism in the state will get a sharp boost by this initiative. Demand for tickets for flights landing in Kerala is expected to rise substantially. Certainly, travellers from European countries including the UK, which already accounts for one of the highest influxes of tourists in Kerala, will see the move to add considerably to their holiday comfort and enjoyment.
The award winning destination, Kerala is a hot favourite among global as well as domestic tourists in India. Every year, thousands of backpackers book tickets for flights to India to explore the natural gems that Kerala has to offer.
