In order to offer seamless connectivity and added tickets for flights running between Maldives and Sri Lanka, Maldivian, the national carrier of Maldives is mulling to commence services from three northern atolls of Maldives to Colombo from August.
Leisure travellers can now look forward to book tickets for flights scheduled to run from three northern atolls - Gaafu Alif, Gaafu Dhaalu and Fuvahmulah, Addu International Airport, Seenu Gan to Colombo.
Maldives based airlines is contemplating to start flights from 7 August 2013. But before commencing operations and offering tickets, the carrier is hoping to sign a code sharing and international agreement with Sri Lankan Airlines.
Sri Lankan airlines, the nation’s flag carrier is also eager to provide tickets on services running between Gan, Addu to Colombo. However the dates have not been decided yet.
Graced with remarkable beaches and sheer verdancy, Maldives and Sri Lanka are renowned as popular Indian Ocean destination. The move of boosting flights by the carriers would do good to travellers from both the destinations. They can enjoy improved connectivity and more options on tickets aboard flights.
