The west Indian state of Goa is looking to more than double its visitor numbers from 2.6 million to six million over the next five years.
Goa's chief minister Manohar Parrikar made the statement of intent at the Goa Investment Forum 2012 held in Panaji, DNA India reports.
While Goa is renowned for its beautiful beaches, Mr Parrikar believes that a more diverse range of attractions is needed to take tourism in the region to the next level.
