SATTE – India Travel and Tourism’s Grand Affair

SATTE 2011(South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange), considered one of the premier tourism events in the world, was held few months back in New Delhi, India. The event primarily focused on the power of Indian travel and explored the country’s ‘tourism relationships’ with Nepal, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Malaysia and Kuwait.

SATTE 2011 also witnessed representation from major international airlines like Air India, Kingfisher Airlines and Qatar Airways.

SATTE identifies India to be one of the most robust markets for tourism. Over the years, country’s improving substructures, top class airports, excellent highways and the year-round connectivity with the rest of the world has impressed numerous tourists who plan holidays here. India, with all its apparent diversity and delightful attractions, is a top tourist destination in the world. Unsurprisingly, cheap flights to India remain much in demand.

SATTE 2011 was one of the India’s largest travel and tourism exhibitions. This event marked the presence of sellers and vendors from 38 countries. This greatest ever SATTE exhibition enthralled even the regular travellers to book flights to India to partake in this grand affair.

This year, the event was unveiled by SATTE Achiever’s Award where 18 leaders of the trade were honoured. While the inauguration ceremony was a striking event, the award ceremony was a joyous time when five main guilds across the country were awarded for their unrelenting support to heritage inheritance and enriching the tourism product in India.

Some 800 visitors were part of the event that took place at Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon. Some related events took place at Kingdom of Dreams - perhaps India’s most ambitious entertainment centre and a top attraction in itself that adds immensely to the popularity of cheap tickets for India.

The closing ceremony took place at The Grand Hotel which organised wonderful shows and performances for the entertainment purposes.
