Etihad Airways to Begin Flight Services to Los Angeles

Etihad Airways, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will start direct flights to Los Angeles, California from June 1, 2014, subject to regulatory approvals. Tickets on daily and direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Los Angeles will be offered. 

LA will be Etihad’s fourth destination in the USA. As of now, the carrier is offering air tickets on flights to American cities of Chicago, New York and Washington D.C. 

Once the new flight services to LA are operational, Etihad Airways will be providing 28 return flights each week between the UAE and USA.

Initiation of new flights is likely to push Etihad Airways’ stock in the USA, and is going to cater to the rising demand for air tickets on flights between the USA and UAE. Los Angeles is major tourist hub of USA and is renowned for its entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science and sports. 

The new flights will also offer utmost connectivity, via the airline’s hub at Abu Dhabi, to destinations across the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent. 

As far as configuration is concerned, space for 237 guests will be available, with 8 Diamond First Class suites, 40 Pearl Business Class flatbed seats, and 189 Coral Economy Class seats for travellers seeking cheaper air tickets with Etihad. 

Daily, Flight EY171 will depart from Abu Dhabi at 8.45am and land in LA at 2.15pm. The return flight, EY170, will depart LA at 4.15pm and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 7.35pm, the following day.

Etihad Airways to Boost Frequency to Four Cities

In a bid to offer seamless connectivity to business travellers and leisure vacationers seeking tickets on flights operating from Abu Dhabi to various regional destinations, Etihad Airways, the national flag carrier of United Arab Emirates is boosting frequency to Cairo, Islamabad, Muscat and Amman from June 15, 2013. 


The national carrier will increase Cairo bound flights to three times day from current 18 weekly services in order to offer added tickets to travellers seeking air travel on extensive network of the airline.

In addition, Abu Dhabi-Islamabad will be enhanced from seven to nine per week, enhancing connectivity over the airline’s Abu Dhabi hub to key destinations across the Middle East and Europe. More options will also spell flexibility for flyers remaining on a constant lookout for tickets.
The airline going to enhance additional services to Muscat, taking total number of flights to 23 every week and contributing to added options for tickets on flights running from Abu Dhabi to Omani capital and other major destinations including Japan, China and South Korea. Besides, it will also provide tickets for four extra overnight operations to per week to existing double-daily services from Abu Dhabi to Amman, contributing to improved connectivity to various regions in South East Asia and Australia.

It is expected that additional services would do good to passengers seeking tickets for flights operating from Abu Dhabi and vast network of long and ultra long haul flights. On the other hand, increasing number of options on these routes may also spell cheap deals for budget-conscious flyers.

Etihad Earned World's Leading Airline at World Travel Awards

By picking up the World's Leading Airline award at the World Travel Awards (WTA) for the fourth consecutive year, Etihad Airways, the national airline of United Arab Emirates and based in Abu Dhabi, has added another foremost feather in its cap.

Etihad Airways bolsters its Stake in Air Berlin

Etihad Airways has become the largest stakeholder in Germany’s second largest airline, Air Berlin.

As per the deal that was signed by the two airlines on Monday, Abu Dhabi Airport based Etihad Airways will furnish $255 million for the fleet improvement and network growth at Air Berlin and in return will acquire two seats on the board of directors of Air Berlin.

The deal also covers a code share agreement that grants Etihad Airways access to Air Berlin’s European short-distance network, and to the German capital of Berlin.

Air Berlin has decided to shift its Middle East operation from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and will operate flights to Abu Dhabi from Berlin four times a week. According to the agreement, from January 15, 2012 the German carrier Air Berlin will operate four A330-200 flights to Abu Dhabi per week. This service will grant the European travellers access to 29 flights per week between Abu Dhabi and four German hubs.

The agreement between the two airlines will perhaps be worthwhile for the budget-oriented European and Middle East travellers seeking cheap flight tickets to travel between two destinations. A further rise in flight frequency which is planned by mid April is sure to assist travellers in landing up with cheap flight tickets.

As per Air Berlin’s website “Etihad Guest and topbonus, the airlines’ frequent flyer programs, will be integrated, enabling passengers of both airlines to ‘earn and burn’ on each other’s flights and offering reciprocal benefits - including status earning - to top tier members”.

Etihad Airways has raised its stake in Air Berlin from 2.99 percent to 29.2 percent, followed by the ESAS, Pegasus Airlines’ parent company.
