Taj to set up new Indian resort

he Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), a part of the Taj Hotel Resorts and Palaces, has confirmed plans to develop a new resort in the region.

Based near Shimla, the five acre project will offer 70 rooms as well as two restaurants, a bar and other facilities that could appeal to those taking flights to India.

"We are delighted to announce our Himalayan foray with the signing of the new Gateway Hotel in Shimla. It's being developed by Mahamaya Infrastructure Private Ltd," explained IHCL's managing director and chief executive officer Raymond Bickson.
